BTKG-I Reflected ultraviolet imaging system

Features

The photosensitive device of BTKG-I Ultra-wide spectrum photo camera for physical evidence is a photosensitive chip, which is directly sensitive to ultra-wide spectral region of UVC-UVA-visible light-NIR-FIR. Its spectral response range is 180-1100nm. Its advantage is not only can observe clear physical evidence images but also can take equally clear pictures.

For the ultraviolet observation system of previous generation, its photosensitive device is ultraviolet intensifying tube, which front end receives ultraviolet images and back end presents visible images. Users observe the physical evidence through eyepiece and photograph behind the eyepiece. Its disadvantage is the clear images can be observed but cannot photograph clearly.

The photosensitive device of the previous UV-IR camera is CMOS with a fluorescent film covering the surface. UV image irradiates the fluorescent film that stimulate visible images generate, and CMOS senses the light and present the physical evidence images on the camera display screen. Its disadvantage is that the picture brightness is low, and it needs strong UV light irradiation to obtain clear physical evidence images.

Product usage

A. UVA (365nm) is used for searching and discovering potential fingerprints in a long distance. Potential fingerprints on glass, ceramic, metal, paint, plastic, whitewashed walls, paper, etc. can be found.

B. UVC (254nm) is use for photographing potential fingerprints at close range. Potential fingerprints on glass, ceramic, metal, paint, plastic, whitewashed walls, paper, etc. can be photographed.

C. Infrared light is used for searching, discovering and photographing the blood and gunshot residues on a dark background. Under the infrared light of 850nm and 940nm, most of the dark objects present light color, and the blood and gunshot residues are still present dark color.

D. Cooperatively use with multiband light source for photographing the fluorescence of various physical evidence, such as fluorescence of biological evidence like seminal stain, exuviae, bones and saliva. In the part of visible light, there is only gray scale contrast but no color contrast.

E. Combined with ultraviolet light source, visible multiband light source and infrared light source, the physical evidences can be color separation photographed in ultra-wide spectrum.

Equipment operation

A. Select the light source and install on the screw thread mouth of the lens. Use the light source power cord link the light source and 12V DC OUT jack. Turn on the light source switch and the light source lights up.

B. Select the receiving filter and install on the filter jack.

C. Long press the power switch of host machine, the host machine will start as well as the touch screen will light up and present the current image.

D. Turn the focusing ring to make the image clear.

E. Adjust the aperture and contrast conversion to get the best image.

F. Click the “photograph” can take the picture.

G. Click the “record” can record video.

H. Click “view the photos” can look over the pictures in host machine. Insert the USB flash disk to USB interface and operate according to hint can import the pictures to USB flash disk.

I. Click “set” will automatically popup setting interface, parameters can be changed according to requirement.

G. Long press the power switch of host machine, the host machine will power off.

K. Host machine charging: 12V power adapter insert in 12V DC IN interface.

L. UV light source charging: 12.6V charger can charge 254nm ring light source, 254nm square light source and 365nm square light source.

Practical application

A. Use UVA (365nm) for searching and discovering potential fingerprints in a long distance

Within the 5 meters from the object to be inspected, install the host machine on tripod. Install the 365nm ring light source in front of the lens and 365nm filter on filter jack. Turn on the host machine and light source switch, adjust the focal length and aperture to make the touch screen present a clear image. Turn the lens slowly can search the potential fingerprint on indoor objects over a large area.

If the light intensity is insufficient, 365nm square UV lamp can be used to supply light.

B. Use UVC (254nm) for photographing potential fingerprints at close range

a. Photograph potential fingerprints on flat objects

Install the 254nm ring light source in front of the lens and the 254nm filter in filter jack. Turn on the host machine and light source switch, adjust the focal length and aperture to make the touch screen present clear image.

There is a visor in front of the 254nm ring light source. When the object has high surface finish, installing the visor can prevent the directionally reflected light from the object surface from entering the lens that interfering with the fingerprint image. When the object surface has low surface finish, the object surface will not produce obvious directionally reflected light so that the visor can be removed to expand the field of view.

b. Photograph potential fingerprints on non-planar objects

Use the 254nm ring light source for irradiating the object and install the 254nm filter in filter jack. Turn on the host machine and light source switch, adjust the focal length and aperture as well as the irradiating distance and angle of light source to make the touch screen present clear image.

C. Use infrared light for searching, discovering and photographing the blood and gunshot residues on a dark background

a. 850nm infrared light

Install the 850nm ring light source in front of the lens and the 850nm filter in filter jack. Turn on the host machine and light source switch, adjust the focal length and aperture to make the touch screen present clear image. Under the infrared light of 850nm, most of the dark objects present light color but the blood and gunshot residues still present dark color, so that the form of the blood and gunshot residues can clearly present on display screen.

b. 940nm infrared light

In a completely dark environment, install the 5-band ring light source in front of the lens and the filter in filter jack. Turn on the host machine and 940nm light source switch, adjust the focal length and aperture to make the touch screen present clear image. Under the 940nm spectrum, most of dark objects present light color but the blood and gunshot residues still present dark color, so that the form of the blood and gunshot residues can clearly present on display screen.

D. Photograph the fluorescence of various physical evidence

Install the 5-band light source in front of the lens and the 500nm receiving filter, use 395nm light source irradiating objects; install the 550nm receiving filter, use 440nm light source irradiating objects. The fluorescence of seminal stain, exuviae, saliva stain, urine stain and other physical evidences can be observed and photographed.

E. Color separation photograph

Respectively use 254nm,365nm,white light,850nm and 940nm light sources for irradiating the physical evidence, respectively install 245nm,365nm,410nm,450nm,500nm,550nm,600nm,650nm,700nm and 850nm receiving filters, and use ultra-wide spectral camera for observing the objects. The absorptivity and reflectivity of the background and trace of objects is different from different waves of light. The contrast between background and trace will change according to the change of waves. Choose the biggest contrast to photograph.
